The 13 Ugly Men are at it again. The Annual Halloween Party is now on sale, and the 13 Ugly Sins Party will be the best costume party of the year.
The party is on Friday, October 23rd, with doors opening at 8pm at District 3 in Downtown Tampa.
Come dressed up, and be ready for a good time. This venue holds over 2,000 people, and we are sure to do our best to exceed last years 1,800 in attendance. The best local DJs will be making your night full of dancing and partying.
As all 13 Ugly Men parties, they are for a purpose. The proceeds will benefit the St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital Foundation.

The 2014 Annual Halloween Party was a huge success, and the 13 Ugly Men raised $25,000 for the Children’s Cancer Center. The party was attended by over 1,800 guests, continuing to make Halloween one of the best parties the 13 Ugly Men throw.
The donation was to build a covered sports court for the Children, where they could play basketball under a covered area and other recreational games. The flooring is weather friendly & the covered awning is impressive, and it truly rounds out the entire remodel of the Center.
Event Chair, Chris Goolsby, has been growing and making the Halloween Event bigger and better over the past few years.
In February of 2015, the 13 Ugly Men decided to make David Moyer the new President of the organization. He is one of the younger members in the group, and has shown a desire and passion for charitable work.
Meet the President:
David Moyer was born in Rochester, NY where he graduated from St. John Fisher College with Honors in studies of History and American Studies. While in college, he played wide receiver for the ECAC winning Cardinals Team. He moved to Tampa Bay in 2004 where he started working in Real Estate at Smith & Associates. He found his home in Hyde Park, and focused his real estate career with new development communities in the urban Downtown’s (Tampa & St. Petersburg). He currently holds the title of Director of Sales in the Developer Services division where he has closed over 1,500 homes and has been involved in the sales of over 10 different community sales. He has continued to work for Smith & Associates over the past 10 years, and believes it is the best real estate company in all of Tampa Bay.
David is very active and has a lot of interests outside of real estate and charity. He is truly involved in sports and activities, and you will see him always organizing games with his friends and peers for fun on a weekly basis. He says his grandfather used to organize all of the recreational activities at Kodak Park for all of the employees and that trait was passed down to him. “It started with basketball games and ultimate frisbee pick up games, and it has evolved into trying to do something new each week.” He calls the games, “The League Tampa”.
He also has a love for animals, especially dogs. As someone who grew up with litters of golden retrievers, he remains to have a strong bond with pets, and owns 2 terriers. He has a soft spot for animals and would love to see the 13 Ugly Men provide to charities that aim in helping dogs in need. Some of the other charities that he wants to commit to are centered around children and special needs, as well as senior citizens.
The 13 Ugly Men is a group that is founded around Partying for a Purpose, and like all members, David also does party. He says right now, it is quality over quantity though. He enjoys local craft beers, and states Coppertail Free Dive is his beer of choice. He has always been a tequila guy, but says whiskey is growing on him, especially an old fashion. He loves going to live music concerts and festivals, and his favorite band is Mumford and Sons.
David is committed to Tampa Bay, and wants to make sure all of the efforts of the 13 Ugly Men benefit the area. The events will not only benefit local charities, but they will be at great locations in the Bay area. His goal is create new signature events & enhancing the current ones, and to raise even more funds and donations for charities in need.
The 13 Ugly Men put on a new concept for July 4th called the Red, White, & Brew. This was the first time for the party, and it was a huge success. Over 1,000 people came to Downtown Tampa and visited the new Ferg’s Live venue for a one of a kind party that featured unbelievable views of the Fireworks in Channelside.
The party featured live music and bands, and late night DJ. They had games available in the parking lot, as well as a Yogurtology mobile truck. Tito’s Handmade Vodka featured a one of a kind watermelon drink, with custom kegs made by Wikid Watermelon. Pepin had several different brew stations available for guests to try various beer options.
This party was put on for a purpose, as always with the 13 Ugly Men. They raised $13,000 for the Southeastern Guide Dog and the Paws for Patriots Program. http://www.guidedogs.org/about/our-programs/paws-for-patriots/
We appreciate all of the amazing donations, support, and overwhelming attendance.
The “Red, White & Brew” event which will be held at “Ferg’s Live” on Channelside Drive in Tampa this Saturday is sure to be a great time. We are truly hoping that people find the time to make it out there to spend their evening partying for a purpose. As a foundation, we are honored to help out the causes that we do and we always take pride in giving everyone that attends a great experience. We have to take a moment to talk about one of the most intricate pieces of the puzzle with the “13 Ugly Men” and that’s our sponsors. They not only help give to the causes that we support, but they show that we as a community can come together and do great things for great people. For the “Red, White & Brew” we must thank Waterstone Mortgage who has stepped up to become our premiere wristband sponsor. They realize the value of helping out the Southeastern Guide Dogs “Paws For Patriots” program and we can’t say enough good things about them. We ask that you support those who support us. When you are looking for a mortgage in the future, we encourage you to keep them in mind and take solace in knowing that they help support the local community by giving back. It takes special individuals to take action and become actively involved and Waterstone Mortgage are the shining example of that. Their email is firstname.lastname@example.org and phone number to contact Jim Sorrells is 813-263-9166 or Arnie Diaz at 727-420-8800. Even if you are not in the market for a mortgage at this point in time, please email them and thank them for their support. We’re pretty excited about this event, because we are continuing to cultivate new events for great causes and this is no exception. We have lined up everything from watermelon kegs serving nojitos, magicians, games, craft beer, spectacular views of the Fireworks, live music from Soul Circus Cowboys along with DJ Barry Carrew who will be mixing some Country with top 40 plus a “All-American” video tribute on the projection screens. The only thing missing is….well….YOU! Tickets are only $10 for this event, but we have a couple VIP tables left along with some VIP skybox tickets as well. You can get your tickets by clicking here and help spread the word about the event on our Facebook page too. It’s a good feeling when you know your doing good for all the right reasons and an even better feeling when you’re partying with a purpose with the “13 Ugly Men”.
The “13 ugly Men” Foundation a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization is proud to announce another event as they continue to “party for a purpose” on Saturday July 4th at “Ferg’s Live” in Downtown Tampa. The “Red, White & Brew” event will kick off at 7pm and play host to live music from country/ rock band “Soul Circus Cowboys” and DJ Barry Carew. The event will feature what the 13 Ugly Men have been known for since being funded in the mid 1990’s…some of the most fashionable ladies in the Bay Area joining a crowd that will feature select domestic & craft beers in conjunction with Pepin Distributors, specialty Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktails, a great view of the fireworks from the Channelside area and of course, a cause that is more than worthy of the $10 cover charge which is going to benefit the “Southeastern Guide Dogs” (www.GuideDogs.org) which trains dogs to help soldiers with PTSD through their Paws For Patriots program. “We wanted to form new events in addition to our signature White Party, Halloween Party, and Get Roasted events” said President David Moyer. Our continued efforts and growth is important
to the area and bringing light & charitable contributions to worthwhile charities”. Those that have ever been to a 13 Ugly Men event know that they know how to throw a party. The “White Party” that was held at the Seminole Hard Rock in mid April raised $25,000 for “Hands Across The Bay” which helps victims of domestic violence. The all new
“Ferg’s Live” located across from Amalie Arena in Downtown Tampa is the perfect backdrop to witness the fireworks as well as play some great bar games which will be set up on the Ferg’s spacious patio. The “Red, White & Brew” party is encouraging attire fitting with the theme (Red, White & Blue) and fully expect a great crowd to enjoy the mix
of live music, DJ spinning country / top 40 mash up, craft & domestic brews, specialty themed cocktails and of course the use of “Ferg’s Live” amazing venue they have built to entice the booming Downtown scene to be a part of. “We are a proud organization of Gentleman who are blessed to be able to give back to our community in a non traditional fashion” said Moyer. “When we choose to hold an event, you can guarantee that we are going to put 100% into people having a great time and of course, partying for a purpose”. Tickets for the event are available now by going to www.13UglyMen.com for only $10 and a limited number of VIP tickets which gets you a stellar view of the fireworks via Ferg’s fireworks viewing deck among other goodies for $50. They also have a select number of VIP tables available for $500 which gains entry for 6 in addition to a bottle of Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Mark your calendars and don’t
miss “Red, White & Brew” on Saturday July 4th from 7-12 at Ferg’s Live located at 460 Channelside Drive as they look to donate all the proceeds to Southeastern Guide Dogs.

THE HISTORY OF THE “13 UGLY MEN”
The “13 Ugly Men” first appeared in the Tampa area in the 1990’s as a group of 13 Founding Members who hosted fantastic parties, and wanted to improve our community by giving back. By encouraging Tampa Bay to “Party With a Purpose”, the reputation of the original 13 grew steadily, and by the late 90’s, they were ready to take the next step. In December of 1998, The “13 Ugly Men” Foundation was incorporated in the State of Florida as a 501(c)3 not-forprofit organization. Over the subsequent years, the Foundation has raised well in excess of a half million dollars for deserving charities and causes around Tampa Bay. The Foundation is an ardent supporter of charities and organizations that benefit children’s issues, women’s issues, crisis intervention, law enforcement and our military men and women.
Currently comprised of thirty-one (31) members, the Foundation is led by its Board of Directors, currently numbering six, including the President. The “13 Ugly Men” are proud to operate the Foundation with a 0% administrative overhead, which means that none of the proceeds from our events are used to pay for any operational expenses incurred by the Foundation in the normal course of business. Private donations, received annually from each member, ensure that 100% of the proceeds from our events reaches those in need. The “13 Ugly Men” host up to five events annually. Our signature event is the White Party, held each year in the latter part of April. We also feature the Halloween Freakshow, held on the Friday preceding Halloween, and Get Roasted,
held on the night before Thanksgiving. Other events are scheduled as opportunities arise, including select New Years, St Patrick’s Day and summer events.
The “13 Ugly Men” have been honored with numerous awards throughout the years, including the Champions for Children Award (2009), presented by Voices for Children, the Business Partner of the Year Award (2012), presented by the Tampa Police Department, and the Tampa Bay Lightning Community Hero Honor (2015).

A truly monumental occasion, as we visit the completed Firehouse 6 project. The 13 Ugly Men donated towards renovating the facility. Built in 1914, it sits the oldest Firehouse in Tampa, & housing one of the very few that can handle hazardous material in the state. The renovations of this historic landmark are now complete, as we met Tampa Fire Rescue Chief Thomas Forward & Chief Michael Gonzalez, as well as the Firehouse 6 crew and team. We could not be more happy to help, and support the City of Tampa any way we can.
Due to the overwhelming support, sponsors, and attendance, of the 2015 13 Ugly Men White Party. The 13 Ugly Men Foundation is proud to present a $25,000 donation to the Hands Across the Bay. The donation will be utilized towards the Domestic Violence division.
The Seminole Hard Rock Casino hosted the amazing party, and ensured all of the guests had a safe & great time. We continue to party for a purpose, and raise money to local charities.
This is what it is all about, and the reason we throw our events.
