The Tampa Theatre is going through renovations, and one of the initiatives is to replace all of the seating in the theater. The last time this was done was over 40 years ago. The 13 Ugly Men have sponsored $500 towards the initiatives. We look forward to seeing one of Tampa’s landmarks thrive in the future.
The 2016 White Party was a huge success on every level. The event was sold out. All the attendees had an amazing time. The Spring of Tampa Bay received a check for $13,000 and the 13 Ugly Men were able to add even more money to their goal of raising $1MM for charity. The event was held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in various parts of the hotel. The restaurant, Grey Salt was transformed into an epicenter for foodies and festive cocktails with a DJ, entertainment and silent auction items. The Hard Rock Café was taken to the next level with VIP lounges, a lighted dance floor and the city’s best dance party mixed by Tampa’s hottest DJs. Raising money for charity and having an amazing time doing it, that’s what The White Party and The 13 Ugly Men are all about!
Some of the 13 Ugly Men members volunteered to be SoleMen for the Children’s Cancer Center’s “Wine, Woman, and Shoes” Event. They were naturals at the fundraising event, selling golden keys to women and raising a lot of money during the night. The guys played the roles as waiters for the rest of the evening serving wine to the VIP tables.
The group individually raised $3,000 through donations over the weeks leading up the event. This comes a year after donating $25,000 to the Children’s Cancer Center to renovate the outdoor sports court.
A ton of credit goes out to Tim Watson, Jay Taylor, Anthony Rickman, Brian Wexler, & David Moyer for taking the time and initiative to raise money on the side for a great cause.
We have had a lot of positive experience here with the Tampa Police, and we can’t thank them enough for all they do in our community, keeping us safe and out of harms way. The 13 Ugly Men Foundation decided to make 2 recent donations this month. $1,000 to the Police Unity Tour & $1,000 Tampa S.W.A.T. training in Orlando for S.W.A.T. Roundup. One is to honor the fallen officers locally, and the other is to make our police officers better through training.

The Police Unity Tour is an annual 250 mile bicycle ride which honors officers who have been killed in the line of duty across the nation in service to the communities they served. There are several chapters across the country of which Chapter VIII represents Florida. Chapter VIII members begin their ride in Portsmouth Virginia on May 10 th and ride the 250 miles over a 3 day period. The ride ends every year at the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial in Washington DC. During the ride, every participant chooses a fallen officer from the previous year to ride in honor of. The participants are provided with a “Band of Honor” which includes the fallen officer’s name, department and their End of Watch date. These bands are then given to family members of the fallen officer as a reminder that the fallen officers will always be remembered. Every year on May 13 th , a candlelight vigil is held and the names of the fallen officers are read and their names are officially added onto the memorial wall. The entire experience is very moving. The riders are tired and pushed to their limits but we think of our fallen brethren and continue on. Very often along the route we are also cheered on by citizens showing their respect for the riders and the fallen officers. The support we receive from the community is very important to us and is greatly appreciated. Since its beginning in 1997, the Police Unity Tour has been able to donate over 16 million dollars to the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial.

This year our team will be participating in the SWAT Round-Up. The SWAT Round-Up, an annual event, brings together SWAT operators from around the globe to participate in training events. Our team will participate in educational seminars and classes to improve our skill sets. Our team has not participated since Sergeant Gary Pricher’s death. Sgt. Pricher died returning from the SWAT Round-Up in 1983. In honor of his memory, one of the events is named after him called the “Pricher Scramble”. The Tampa SWAT team has started to participate again in the Round-Up for the past two years and hopefully in the years to come. Training for this event will be tough, but we all are looking forward to the challenge. The event will take place from in Orlando, Florida and is held at the Orange County Sheriff’s Officer Range (swatroundup.net). The Tampa Police Benevolent Association (PBA) is assisting our team in creating an account for the Tampa SWAT Round-Up. Tampa SWAT team so we have the opportunity to be a part of the 34th Annual SWAT Round-Up International.
We are joining the community of nearly 250k people walking in hundreds of cities across the country in support of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.

The “13 Ugly Sins” event will kick off at 8pm and play host to the best & most creative Halloween party all Year. The event will feature what the “13 Ugly Men” have been known for since being founded in the mid 1990’s…some of the most fashionable ladies and gentleman in the Bay Area joining a crowd that will feature several full liquor bars, plenty of photo opportunities and a sound and lighting arrangement that is truly state of the art. Devan is 10 and has cancer. He lives in Port Richey, and is undergoing treatment at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. He will be enjoying a week at Give Kids the World with his family in December. Give Kids the World is a village in Kissimmee, created just for sick children. While Devan is there, he will enjoy all of the wonderful things at the village – swimming, putt-putt golf, the magic castle – and also visit all of the Disney-area theme parks. It is our most-requested dream, and he’ll be able to enjoy all of the special holiday activities as well.
Kayla is 11 and has had a heart transplant. She lives in Valrico. Her very serious heart condition was diagnosed in February, and unbelievably, they were able to get her a new heart the following week! She has been planning her dream ever since- a trip to Hawaii with her family – and her doctors have cleared her for travel on December 16. What a wonderful ending to a challenging year. If they continue to do well, it would be wonderful to include Devan and Kayla on the float in the parade.
The 13 Ugly Men have been honored by the Children’s Dream Fund as DreamMaker of the Year for 2016. Since 2006, the 13 Ugly Men have raised and donated over $70,000 to the Children’s Dream Fund through various events and fund raising efforts. The 13 Ugly Men took that honor to heart, and at the end of the event decided to donate $13,000 to the Children’s Dream Fund, to fulfill some specific dreams that were mentioned during the event. ” We are honored to be named the Children’s Dream Fund DreamMaker of the Year for 2016, and look forward to continue working with this amazing organization,” says 13 Ugly Men President, David Moyer.

Every year the 13 Ugly Men make their parties bigger & better. 2015 was the largest attended Halloween Party EVER. Adding carved pumpkins, a magician, a saxophonist, 2 DJ’s, and more VIP tables then ever; this party was poised to be one for the ages.
Every party is for a purpose, and the 2015 party benefited the St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital Foundation. They serve nearly 60,000 children a year, and currently trying to upgrade the hospital to today’s modernized standards while functioning and supporting all of the guests. The 13 Ugly Men’s $25,000 donation will help in some of the renovation work needed to improve the standards at St. Joseph’s Children Hospital.
