An “Ugly” act of good

May 24, 2011 | Creative Loafing

13 Ugly Men, a Tampa Bay-based philanthropic group made up of professional guys who throw unique-themed party fundraisers, presented Starting Right, Now — a non-profit that helps homeless families find new beginnings — a check for $30,000 from the White Party 2011 event earlier this year. Lance Ponton, Lee Mezrah, Roof Douglas, Ean Mendelsohn and Corey McLaughlin presented the check to board members of Starting Right, Now — MaryEllen Elia, Matthew Silverman, Vicki Sokolik and Susan Guttentag. This money will help “restart” 10 more families.
